QR Code FAQ

Quick answers to common questions about privacy, downloads, and how to choose the right QR code type.

Is QrGent free to use?

Yes. The generator is free to use for personal and commercial projects.

Do you store the data I enter?

No. QR codes are generated locally in your browser and the content is not uploaded or saved by QrGent.

Does QrGent track scans?

No. QrGent generates static QR codes locally, so scans are not tracked and no analytics pixels are embedded.

What formats can I download?

You can download PNG and SVG files, plus PDF for print-ready exports.

Can I edit a QR code after printing?

Static QR codes do not change. If the content changes, generate a new QR code and update the print.

How do I choose the right QR type?

Pick the type that matches the action after a scan: URL for web destinations, text for short notes, Wi-Fi for network access, and vCard for contact sharing.

Can I customize colors?

Yes. Keep strong contrast between the code and background, and test with a few phones before printing.

What size should I print?

For close-range use, print at least 1 in (2.5 cm) wide. Increase size for posters or distance scanning, and always test.

Why won’t my QR code scan?

Check contrast, add more margin, increase the size, or shorten the content. Avoid glare and textured surfaces.

Do QR codes work offline?

Text, Wi‑Fi, and vCard QR codes work once scanned. URL QR codes still need an internet connection to open the destination.
